MIKE PRESTON MSc MInstLM - Training & Development Lead

Mike is a highly experienced Training specialist with over 20 years of experience in Military, Security, Nuclear and Engineering sectors. An experienced Project Manager working in and around the major project environment with several UK based clients and tier one contractors since 2014.

A Leadership expert, through 16 years of exemplary military service and several years researching leadership and psychology up to MSc level, with Portsmouth University. Mike also specialises in developing leadership capability at all levels within organisations and possesses a unique ability to explain complex concepts clearly and understandably. Qualified in coaching/mentoring and a senior trainer Mike can help develop the skills and competence of trainers to enhance the overall learner experience. 

Mike leads the Training & Development scope within the IndustrySmary scheme, from initial engagement, screening and gap analysis through to bespoke training course design and delivery. 

STEPHEN DALY BEng (Hons) MSc AIRP - Industry Partner & Recruitment Lead

Stephen is a highly capable Programme and Project Management consultant with a significant amount of experience in the management, planning and control of Projects and Programmes up to national infrastructure size. A qualified Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineer with a huge spectrum of industry and sector experience from the nuclear decommissioning, nuclear new build, defence, petro-chemical, manufacturing and energy markets.

A specialist in the establishment of project management and controls, planning and control of major projects and programmes, programme delivery, earned value management systems and project controls platforms and tools. Stephen is experienced in assisting businesses and organisations undertaking business improvement initiatives, PMO development, event recovery actions and major project establishment. 

With such a broad and expansive network within industry Stephen established The Herne Group in 2017 as a consulting, training and recruitment business.
